Questions about domains

Who owns the domain?

You do. The domain is registered in the name you give at checkout, which makes that person or company the legal owner.

Can I use it with a website HPA didn't build?

Yes. Add the records your website or email provider gives you under DNS records, and the domain points wherever you need it.

Does it come with email?

No, email mailboxes aren't included. You can use the domain with an email provider you choose, such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, by adding their records under DNS records.

What happens if I stop renewing?

Your domain keeps working until its expiry date, which you can see in My domains. After that it expires, and anything using it, like your website or email, stops working. To keep it, turn auto-renew back on before that date.

Can I move a domain I already own here?

Not yet. For now you can only buy new domains here. If you already own a domain elsewhere and have an HPA website, you can still connect it to your website at no charge from your website portal.

Can I get a refund?

No, all domain sales are final. That's why checkout shows the exact price and asks you to check the spelling before you pay. If you don't want it to renew next year, turn auto-renew off any time before the expiry date.

How do I sign in?

With your email. We send you a sign-in link, so there's no password to remember. If you have an HPA website, it's the same sign-in.
